Why Pistorius should not be allowed to compete
The short answer is that it's not fair to the able-bodied athletes who don't want to get into the enhancement game.

High-end athletic competitors are already pushing their bodies into hugely unnatural directions. What's the difference between a robot leg and a bodybuilder's Herculean pecs, which obtaining involved years of diet restrictions, protein supplementing, etc.?

The difference is that everyone can do diet and exercise without risk to their health, and without adding an external device.

It's also worth noting that even with supplements, not everything is acceptable. There are many illegal supplements that are baned, I believe, because they're harmful if taken long term.
